Self-Help Techniques

  • Grounding (5-4-3-2-1): Notice 5 things you see, 4 you can touch, 3 you hear, 2 you smell, 1 you taste.

  • Box Breathing: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat.

  • Stay Connected: Talk to friends, family, or support groups.

  • Routine: Maintain regular sleep, meals, and exercise.

  • Mindfulness: Try guided meditation or mindful walks.

  • Limit News/Social Media: Take breaks if you feel overwhelmed.

Supporting Someone Else

  • Listen without judgment.

  • Encourage them to seek help (share these resources).

  • Check in regularly.

  • If you believe they are at risk, do not leave them alone seek professional help immediately.
