The Compassion Collective

  • We believe everyone deserves accessible, empathetic mental health support. We aim to provide affordable and accessible counselling to the communities in the Aire and Worth Valley. Whether you're facing financial hardship, working as a carer, or simply need someone to talk to, we're here to help.

  • We understand the long waiting lists and financial strain that can come with seeking mental health services. In the Keighley area alone, the average waiting time is 45 days, with some waiting up to 251 days for complex cases.

We're committed to offering counselling sessions starting as low as £15 per session, ensuring that mental health support is within reach for everyone.

  • Caring for others can be emotionally draining. We're also keen to support for carers—both paid and unpaid.  We are also keen to work with a range of local organisations supporting health and mental health services in the local community, the principal being stronger and better together.

  • We provide affordable, accessible one-on-one counselling for individuals facing mental health challenges.

Many face barriers to getting the help they require, whether due to ineligibility for free services, long waiting lists, busy schedules, or other constraints. Our counsellors meet clients where they're most comfortable, offering personalised support.

We also recognise the unique needs of paid and unpaid carers, providing counselling to alleviate stress and promote well-being.

Our mission is to make quality mental health support available to all, empowering clients to overcome challenges and live more fulfilling lives, regardless of their personal circumstances.

  • Accessible Pricing Model:

To ensure our counselling services are available to all, we offer a pay-what-you-can sliding scale from £15 to £40 per session. This flexible model allows clients to access the support they need based on their individual financial circumstances.

    Longer-Term Support Through Membership:

For clients who require therapy over an extended period, we are developing an annual membership program. Membership will provide discounted session rates and priority scheduling, catering to the needs of those seeking ongoing mental health support.

Our pay-what-you-can philosophy extends to this membership model as well. Clients who are truly struggling to afford therapy can discuss lower membership fees, as we are committed to making quality counselling accessible regardless of one's financial situation.

By offering this range of pricing options, we aim to remove barriers and empower all individuals facing mental health challenges to access the care they deserve. Our dedicated team will work closely with each client to determine the most suitable and affordable solution for their unique needs.

Meet Your Counsellors

So what does counselling entail?

At The True North Collective, we believe in making mental health support accessible, affordable, and approachable for everyone. While we have a strong focus on supporting men—who are often hesitant to seek help—our counselling services are open to all. With flexible hours Monday to Saturday, we also aim to accommodate working people and carers with busy schedules.

  • There are several ways to access our services: through referrals from our peer support groups and workshops, local GPs, social prescribing services, or directly via our website.

  • Once you reach out, we’ll ask you to complete a short Emotional Wellness Snapshot form (PHQ-9). This helps us understand your immediate needs and ensures we can address any safeguarding or harm risks promptly.

  • Based on this initial step, we may recommend other relevant services if we feel they are better suited to your needs or invite you to a free counselling assessment. This detailed session allows us to explore your concerns, tailor our approach, and determine if counselling is the right step for you at this time.

If counselling feels appropriate, we’ll offer you an affordable standalone session (on a sliding scale of £15 to £40 - pay what you can). There’s no obligation to continue with the assigned counsellor—you’re free to explore other options or pause therapy until you feel ready.

At every stage, our priority is ensuring you feel heard, supported, and empowered to take the next step when you’re ready.

Opening times:

Monday to Friday: 10am to 8pm

Saturday: 12pm to 4pm.
